Their brains don’t work so good. Stupid people can’t think too good. Thoughts just can’t happen for them. Why is that? Many, many reasons but brains develop slow. Some brains develop real slow and some don’t develop too far. Those people can’t think too well. The ability of the brain can be measured. It’s called intelligence. Some brains just don’t develop much intelligence. The cells that form up the brain may just be slower to develop. Once the cells develop they may not be able to hook-up with other cells so thought is slow. It can also not get things correct. Maybe the slowness and the lack of good working is what makes the stupid person stupid. Stupid people can’t learn too well. So they get a bad start and they can’t get things right. There are a lot of things they can’t do, things that are called thinking. There are levels of thought. Some people can’t think about hard things. Some people can’t think for too long either. They just can’t do it. So when you run into people and you think: “this one is stupid” it can be because of a lot of things. They may not be able to get things correct. It may be impossible for them to think correctly so they get things wrong.
The problem is other people need to rely on them thinking at a certain level. Stupid people can’t help being stupid so they do stupid things. Like riot, burn and steal things. When we catch them we have to treat them like they really knew what they were doing when they caused a problem. Even if they can’t think that well, we hold them responsible like they can think. At some point they probably get in trouble and are sent to jail. That’s the way it has to be. While everything a stupid person does maybe shouldn’t get them into jail, but the problem for the really stupid ones is we don’t know if they did something wrong because they were stupid but we just assume they aren’t that stupid. Sometimes we get that wrong and sometimes they do wrong things because they are criminals. We don’t know if they are doing wrong things because they are stupid or if they are criminals. If they are stupid we can sort of excuse some things but they may be criminals who are trying to trick us into letting them do some criminal things by acting like they are stupid. So we treat everyone who does criminal things as if they are criminals even though some people are not criminals, they are just stupid.
