They have no authority. In addition the Jan 6th Capitol Event wasn’t a riot even though some people might have acted up. The worst thing was the shooting of Ashli Babbitt by a Capitol police officer. Most of the avoidance of the shooting is evidence of a cover-up by the media and by the politicians. They falsely blame the crowd for the Jan 6th event and push the behavior of the crowd instead of the police officer.
