He paid $185 million for the franchise in 1994. Forbes notes that he took out a loan to buy the Eagles from Norman Braman. The franchise is now worth $4.9 Billion. That’s a rate of return of about 12.4 Percent Per Year. The first year Laurie’s $185 million would have earned him about 23 million increasing his investment to $208 million. The second year he would have earned about $26 in interest increasing his investment to about $233 million. On and on for 26 more years earning Laurie about $4.7 billion total over the 28 years in interest and increasing the net value of the Eagles to about $4.9 billion. He’s earning over a Half Billion a year with the Eagles. That’s about $10 million a week. No wonder Jeffery smiles so much.
