With a relative. It’s been a bad deal and it’s especially galling because it was made with a relative. First, the relative was a car salesman with a very high pressure car dealer. So I bought two cars from him and both were poor deals for me. Next, when I found out he didn’t have any cash for a down payment and he needed a car I offered to sell him a rather high end, great looking car, a Jaguar that was painted with a metallic paint that contained gold metallic for no money down. It has a fresh inspection sticker and brand new tires. A superb deal… for him. Knowing he was out of a job I offered the car for $200 a month…. Well.. that was in July of 2019. This is now 40 months but he only made 29 payments. That’s almost one year behind in slightly more than three years and three months. In addition, I did not charge him any interest. So he saved 32.67 per month in interest. That’s a savings for him but a cost for me of  $523.55. Then there’s the cost of the aggravation and suffering of having been made a fool of or at least of being taken advantage of for over 34 months which is the time of the first missed payment. Because of the sour feelings it’s highly probable we will never see him or his wife ever again. A bad deal with an ex-car salesman. I should have known better.  .
