Stupid people who buy electric cars to save the planet have been duped. First of all, an electric car needs a huge battery that uses a lot of expensive materials. Second, the battery needs to be charged with electricity and that electricity is usually made from fossil fuels so an electric car really runs on fossil fuel like oil that’s used to make the electricity. Third, the efficiency of the electric power used by the electric car is lower than the efficiency of gasoline or diesel fuel partly because it has to be generated and transmitted over long distances, because the battery is an inefficient way to store energy and an electric motor is less efficient than a gasoline motor that uses the gasoline directly. Wanna save the planet? Buy a diesel or gasoline powered car instead of an electric car.
