Clearly she shot and killed her ex-husband and his second wife. Was she justified? She had been subject to the behavior of her ex-husband and his second wife. She was not in her right mind when she shot and killed them. She has no remorse because she believes she did nothing wrong in killing her ex-husband and his second wife. Did the couple deserve to die by being shot by Betty Broderick? No… Betty was in the throws of intellectual instability, of temporary insanity, of dementia. She had never accepted that her husband left her for a younger, slimmer woman. Should she be in prison for killing two people in 1989 at age 42 after being married 18 years and being divorced for four years? Suppose she was driven to her irrational behavior by a combination of her own wrong thinking and the wrong thinking of her ex-husband and his second wife. That’s quite a bit of wrong thinking. She had been unable to lose the weight that supposedly made her un-attractive to her husband. The weight helped cause the divorce. The weight was not caused by her husband and it was helped by her anxiety and probably her sense of injustice and betrayal. No rational person would consider Betty Broderick to have been in her right mind when she killed her ex-husband and his second wife.
