Celera 500L aircraftOne of the newest and unique features is using the diesel exhaust to provide thrust and give the Celera more speed. It uses a fantastic all aluminum liquid cooled V12, that uses two 6-cylinder banks. Either bank can power the Celera by itself. It uses a 550 horsepower Raikhlin Aircraft Engine Developments (RED) German made turbo-charged DIESEL engine that weigh’s only 800 pounds. Because of the turbo’s the Celera can fly at 52,000 feet.  The Celera 500L can cruise with six passengers and two crew members at more than 460 miles per hour, achieves a 4,500 nautical mile range, and has an operating cost of just $328 per hour compared to a Lear or a Citation of about $1,600/hour.

The Celera will fly from New York to Anchorage Non-Stop in 9 1/2 hours. It likes to cruise at 25,000 feet where it’s possible to join up with the jet stream, gain maybe 175 MPH to give a speed of 635 mph.. LA to New York  in 4 hours 23 minutes for $1,440 in operating costs for six passengers which translates to about $240 per passenger.

A Diamond REO truck uses a THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED FIFTY ONE POUND  (3,151) pound Cummins NTC-290 diesel engine, with  14-litre (854cu in) six cylinder Cummins The maximum power is 290 horsepower gross at 1,300 rpm. It’s 2,350 pounds heavier and makes just about half pf the power.
