The wrong-headed movement to blame the poor academic achievement of black students on the white race has gotten a lot of traction because it removes two essential elements from the discussion. Intelligence is one, What’s the second element in learning math? Can math be taught to all students? Should math be removed from the school curriculum? Suppose Math is just too difficult for some students to absorb? Suppose math isn’t really needed in life? Why then is it being taught? In fact, higher math isn’t needed to live a successful life. Proof? Too many people can’t do math yet they have very, very successful lives.
