The most successful International Dealer Conference for YALE brand forklift trucks was held and conducted by the author in 1977 at Las Hadas in Manzinello, Mexico. Sixty five YALE dealers from around the world attended the spectacular dealer meeting. I have the photograph of all of the International YALE dealers, The conference was so successful that I was eventually fired because it showed up the boss who didn’t have nearly enough flair to achieve such a successful event. Another reason I was fired was because of the hugely successful hoist I arranged to be imported from China into the world markets that made the boss jealous. The hoist cost $15 USD at a time when a similar hoist cost $100 USD to make in America at Forrest City, AK. An additional nail in my coffin was the ERCA, the best electric forklift YALE ever introduced, which was developed with me as the first ever program manager. It was done in 17 months during a time when the average time to develop a new fork lift truck was over three years. I had yet another achievement at YALE. when years later a former colleague told me YALE was planning to introduce their new gasoline fork lift and he found a complete set of photographs that I had taken so YALE didn’t need to pay tens of thousands of dollars to the advertising agency to take the photographs. In addition I wrote a computer program to forecast all 50 YALE forklift truck models on a month by month basis, a feat that was impossible before I wrote the program. I made a mistake in not taking full credit so my supposed friend who was really a rotten man, took the credit for work that he couldn’t do.
The lesson here is don’t do so good that your boss realizes he is inadequate so to protect himself he fires you. To him I wish scorpions in his bedroom, snakes in his hair and all bad luck which is coming true as he retired close to where some successful riots have been going on. A real rat.
