It takes more energy to run an electric car. The energy has to be generated… by using fossil fuels. It has to be sent over wires which are a very inefficient way to move energy into a battery which is also a very inefficient way to store energy into an electric motor which is a final inefficient way to move a vehicle. Using gasoline or even diesel power is far more efficient than using electricity. An electric car is a wasteful use of energy. The ones that have been built should be scrapped because they use too much power and no more should be built.
