Aspirin can make you perspire. An old home remedy for a cold is to take aspirin with hot tea laced with honey. A Lithuanian drink called “Boil-O” made with whisky, honey and spices is popular in Pennsylvania’s Coal region. It is served warm at weddings in the coal region. It’s also called “Krupnikus” and recipes to make it are on the internet. HERE. Most likely Boil-O will help with Wehan Flu along with 1,500 mg of aspirin. Boil-o is similar to Viryta a sweet, very potent beverage that can be found at Lithuanian festivals and Lithuanian social clubs in Baltimore. They usually pronounce it ‘VIT-a-tis’. Recipe HERE. Viryta is usually homemade by descendants of Lithuanian immigrants, using recipes that have been handed down through the generations, and is a popular commodity around the holidays. No, it can’t cure the flu but it can help recover faster. It seems to say: Take 4 1/2 asprin with some Boil-O at bedtime and get under the covers to help perspire. In the morning you may find you have beaten the Wuhan flu. If not at least you got a good, solid nights sleep. Stay well….. and prosper.
