Coal comes from plants that are under pressure for a long enough time that they turn into coal. It is found in large quantites that must be reduced in size to be usable. Breaking or crushing coal into smaller pieces produces harmful particles that cause Black Lung Disease. Coal has temendous energy and is used to produce almost half of all the electricity in the world. The side effects can be fatal but they require a long, long time so the harm isn’t noticed for quite a while. Just try to live without it.
