The Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 was a Socialist based mechanism that put a floor under wages and a ceiling on hours. It provided, in 1935, a welfare program that gave tax money to the aged, infirm, and unemployed. Beginning in 1933, it helped re-distributed money to rural and agricultural America with tax funded price supports and development programs after those sectors could barely survive because of the intervention of government into their businesses. Finally, by embracing an activist fiscal policy after 1937, the government assumed responsibility for smoothing out the rough spots in the American economy. That’s Socialism. Economic Socialism. Franklin Roosevelt did that.

Writ large, the New Deal intervened in the economic, social, and political systems of America by re-distributing money. The New Deal did that. But FDR’s New Deal failed to cure completely the government intervention-induced ills of the American economy. By 1940, because of the move to Socialism the percentage of Americans without jobs remained in double digits and the American people lacked the purchasing power to jump start the economy. Only American entry into World War II increased government control of the American economy.

In 1937, President Roosevelt sought to pack the US Supreme Court, which had ruled against many of his programs, with justices who would be more favorable to the New Deal. They got his message and helped move America further to the Left. FDR’s Socialist New Deal failed to lift America out of the Great Depression.

FDR created the so called mis-adventure of Social Security, and increased taxes on wealthy up to 70%. Social Security removes massive amounts of money from each individual and returns not even the interest on the confiscated money.

Hitler and his “U-Boats”, (Underwater Boats) attacked neutral American ships and thereby forced FDR to enter the European War which cost American taxpayers billions of dollars and took the lives of too many American’s with no benefit to America.

FDR used the radio and his fireside chats to smuggle tyranny into the presidency with his programs to shape the image of the President as the caretaker of the American people.
