America was settled in 1607 by settlers. Settlers are not immigrants who are people who come to a place and leave. Rather America was founded and settled by people who refused to leave, people who decided they did not want to return to their place from which they left but who decided to settle and found a new culture in a new and different place, a place that in 180 years was named America.
