As though a politician would reject campaign help. Politicians cannot ever get enough help in a campaign. That includes you and your father.
There are restrictions against foreigners contributing to campaigns but relatives and friends of the foreigners. relatives and friends who live in America are free to contribute right up to the limits of the laws and can find rather simple and legal ways to increase donations beyond the limits.
But the charges against Trump are that he conspired to hire Russians from the Russian Government to help him get elected. No evidence at all was found by Mueller after two years of digging deep for it.
