Experts predict 75,000 more U.S. stores could be closing because of more on-line shopping but that ignores the new stores being built. Aldi’s has been opening new stores and expanding existing stores at a good clip while food retailer Redner’s has been closing some of their stores as rents and property values increase because of inflation. Demographics have changed where people live. When crime increases people move away to more safe places and business in the inner cities decreases as more poor people occupy the declining real estate. The poor are unable to properly care for their homes. They have less money so they are unable to repair broken windows. They burn the doors and moldings to help get heat. They have fewer cars so fewer auto-repair shops and gas stations are needed. Unkept homes become unsafe and must be demolished. Increasing government real estate taxes make rent un-affordable which forces the poor to double up in houses which increases fire risk. Increased fires, poor maintenance and lack of affordability make things worse and increase anger at government, against white people who are seen as oppressors so race-based hatred goes up.
