“MORE GUNS, …LESS CRIME” by John R. Lott Jr. has all of the info about how more and more guns will prevent more and more crime. More crime prevention means less crime occurring. 

How does that happen? Simple… When some people shoot back criminals are less likely to commit crimes. Everyone benefits from less crime. If some of the heroic teachers at the Parkland school massacre had been able to shoot back the shooter would have been stopped from killing and wounding as many as he did. It’s simple arithmetic. When a shooter is faced with people shooting back he either stops or is stopped by the returned fire. In fact it will make potential shooters think twice about even trying to murder innocent people. they may die before they can pull the trigger. Good. In fact, great. Our children deserve that. Their parents deserve it too. So does society at large.
Consider that “Gun Free Zones” mean only a shooter has the advantage because there’s no one who can shoot back because their guns are either in their cars or in there homes where they are useless to protect anyone.
What about felons who have served their time? After they are released they no longer being punished so they should have their constitutional rights returned to them. OTOH if they are too dangerous to own a gun they should be kept in jail because that’s the correct place for people who are too dangerous to be allowed to be among the people. The constitution is not a suicide pact.
