POLITICO reported Ivanka has been reaching out to Planned Parenthood. What!! said the far right.
Ivanka met leaders of the progressive women’s movement including Marcia Greenberger, co-president the National Women’s Law Center, and Judy Lichtman, senior adviser to the National Partnership for Women and Family, reported sources familiar with the under-the-radar meetings as Ivanka and her father try to thread the needle between the far right Republicans and Woman’s Rights.
Planned Parenthood is the spotlight group for the Pro-Woman crowd which includes Ivanka. Her fathers position is just as clear. “I’m Pro-Life”.
“Millions and millions of women — cervical cancer, breast cancer — are helped by Planned Parenthood,” said candidate Donald J. Trump during a presidential debate in February 2016. “I would defund it (abortion>) because I’m pro-life, but millions of women are helped by Planned Parenthood.” And in the past, Trump had supported abortion rights.
But the ultimate deal-maker and his deal-making daughter are driving The Woman’s Bus. The money bet is Planned Parenthood will get some Federal Financing. The Far Right will rage on. No one can win this issue. It can be painted over but paint wears out eventually.
