If Shepard Smith remains at FOX they will continue to lose viewers. He’s become an anti-Trump crusader which means he can’t be trusted to deliver the news. Shep needs to find his own opinion show but he’s become so obnoxious few will watch him.
Shepard Smith is a really Fake News guy. He’s gone after so many guests with crazy questions that show his wacky bias but bias has no place in the news. Shep goes against the fair and balanced meme of FOX NEWS.
Poor Shep has been spinning out of balance for too long that he’s hurting FOX. People can take a bit of goofiness every now and then but Shep has been proving he’s lost it for too long. He needs to go, to follow the other Trump Hater, Megyn Kelly and move over to a liberal left wing network because he just doesn’t fit FOX anymore.
On Shepard Smith Reporting, Smith pushed Chris Wallace to accept the liberal-media spin: “What is your take on the Trump strategy to delegitimize the reporters and the news organizations whose goal for the American people is to hold truth to power?”
Liberals like Smith can’t understand President Trump’s approach. It doesn’t matter if you’re the press or a business competitor. If you attempt to delegtimize him, he will offer you a healthy dose of what you are offering him. Smith has become an arrogant news reader who think he is beyond criticism. He thinks attacking the media for false reporting is like attacking democracy.
Wallace offered Smith a balanced response, suggesting Trump (like Obama) has every right to criticize his press coverage, and maybe that criticism is just based on wanting only good press. Wallace also stood up for CNN and trashed BuzzFeed:
WALLACE: Well, look, there’s been plenty of biased reporting about Donald Trump. I think he’s legitimate in fighting back on that just as Barack Obama fought back on what he considered biased reporting. But there certainly have been cases where it seems like he’s just upset with the coverage, not with the bias — but the fact that it’s negative towards him and maybe rightly so. As long as it’s truthful, it’s legitimate.
Almost everyone agrees that BuzzFeed printing this 35-page dossier, this file of what Donald Trump called “crap,” was completely unverified. News organizations have been trying to find proof of it for months and have been unable to. To put that out there, you know, is just like printing hearsay or rumors, totally irresponsible and totally against what we do. On the other hand, what CNN did, where you’re simply reporting, “This is what happened. The intelligence community briefed the president-elect on this oppo research, which is reportedly tied to the Kremlin.” That’s a fact and to me it’s a news story I don’t think there’s anything wrong with reporting that.
Smith continued with his liberal “Dangerous Trump” line of questioning: “I just wonder how dangerous you think it is if the Commander-in-Chief-to-be is making it part of his strategy to delegitimize those who are holding truth to power. It’s one of the cornerstones of our democracy.”
Can we stop with the “holding truth to power” sloganeering? This is supposed to be TV news, not belly-up-to-the-bar boasting at a journalists’ convention. CNN reporter Acosta wasn’t “holding truth to power.” He was acting like a corporate tool for CNN, trying to please his bosses, not necessarily the public.
There’s no question CNN’s irresponsible reporting was meant to put in play, and on public display, a list of salacious rumors intended to undermine Trump’s legitimacy (a top goal of CNN’s). What we now know for a fact is that despite having nearly a year and unlimited resources, the Trump-hating media — including CNN — was unable to verify even a single one of these rumors. That’s the team Shepard Smith has joined. Smith is someone who needs to be defeated for lying to the public when he should have been telling the truth. Shepard needs to resign or be fired.
