Astrology is fun for a lot of people. So is “reading tea leaves” but rational people don’t make decisions based on tea leaves or planet positions. Nancy Reagan did and it’s important to know that because she helped control what President Ronald Reagan did. That puts her in a category of people who should not be close to the levers of power. But she was.

Remember Donald Regan? He was the White House advisor to President Reagan for two years. He was fired because of Nancy who consulted with Joan Ceciel Quigley (April 10, 1927 – October 21, 2014), of San Francisco, California. Quigley was an astrologer best known for her astrological advice to Nancy Reagan. Two nincompoops were advising President Reagan. This is Nut Stuff.
Nancy was her preferred first name. Her stage name was Nancy Davis but her parents named her Anne Frances Robbins. She was born 7/6/1921, died March 6, 2016 at age 94.

During her Hollywood career, Davis dated many actors, including Clark Gable, Robert Stack, and Peter Lawford. She called Gable the nicest of the stars she had met. On November 15, 1949, she met Ronald Reagan. They married and never separated.

Ronald Reagan was a beloved President. More than anyone else he loved and married Nancy. Nancy was more than a movie actress and the wife of a famous man. Her life story is long, wide and complex. She was in 20 movies and appeared on TV. She deserves to be thought of in big terms. The fact she believed, consulted and ran part of her life based on astrology is a very important element of her life but she did a great many other things, culminating with being the very, very loving wife of President Ronald Reagan. That’s how she should be remembered.
