Jacqueline “Jackie” Kennedy is an American icon. Period. She wore stunning designer clothes from the likes of Oleg Cassini , Coco Channel, Givenchy and other designers but Cassini designed most of her clothes. Later in life she married Aristotle Onassis who provided her with some isolation and our hearts will be forever with our Jackie.
Melania is very different but the media compared her to Jackie with whom she had very, very little in common. Jackie was born into wealth and privilege in “The Hamptons”; Melania in a depressingly tiny village in a tiny part of a communist country.
Oleg Cassini’s brother Igor was born in Sevastopol, Russia. He dressed many, many Hollywood actresses including: Audrey Hepburn, Shirley Temple, Anita Ekberg, Janet Leigh, Loretta Young, Rita Hayworth, Betty Grable, Joan Crawford, Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood, Ursula Andress, Jayne Mansfield, Lana Turner, Sandra Dee, Suzy Parker, Gina Lollobrigida, Renée Zellweger, Malin Åkerman, Kim Basinger, Carroll Baker and Taylor Swift. Cassisi had a long and distinguished career.
Melania has a deeper career than Jackie. Jackie spoke four languages; English, French, Spanish and Italian. Melania speaks five: Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, French, Italian. German and English. Jackie went to the ultra fashionable Chapin school in Manhattan, Vassar University, the Sorbonne and George Washington University. Melania lived in an apartment block. She went to public schools. She was enrolled in college but decided to follow her career in fashion modeling.
