Peggy Noonan has a brilliant piece about Trumps Inauguration Address within which she nails Trumps personality and his separateness from both the Democrats and the Republicans. She distilled his message to: “remember those things I said in the campaign? I meant them. I meant it all. Noonan characterized it as: “an unmistakable indictment of almost everyone seated with him on the platform.
Noonan continued:”And now it begins.” Yes, Peggy, its begun. Trump ran because he saw how broken the system was and that he was the only one who could fix it. Now, Noonan says “it becomes the Trump Civil War, …. every day”. She should have added War with the Left who will continue to try to destroy him, the Right who want him to do what they want done, the elected Republicans, the elected Democrats, the media, Hollywood and now the Women who just marched for whatever.
Trump delivered his combative speech in the midst of the establishment he is going to overthrow. Surrounded by Bushes, Clintons, Obamas, Bidens, and Ryans, Trump aligned himself with the crowd against the celebrities and VIPs on the dais. Mass rallies, social media, and sheer force of personality are his weapons as he attempts to defenestrate the ruling class in Washington and renew the spirit of patriotism to America. He is enriched by the most combative, polarizing, bold, evocative, and indeed revolutionary inaugural addresses in American history. There’s no one like him in politics. the people know that and are cheering him on, at least the people who know what’s going on and not those wearing pink hats.
Noonan said: “He really has no one but those who voted for him.”
That’s far from no one. For one thing it’s 62 million individuals who almost love him for risking so much for them. For another thing, he happens to be right about Political Correctness as the unjust movement that moved Donald Trump into the presidency. He’s going after the media by showing us all of the ways they lie to the public to get their agenda injected into the body politic. That’s a lot of the right stuff.
And Trump knows how to do something the left doesn’t know. He knows how to set up a deal and he knows how to fight and he knows how to win. And he goi8ng to do that because he loves America. We don’t need anymore than Trump.
