We went to Greece decadeS ago and it was wonderful. The weather was a bit hot since it was August but the evenings and nights were very comfortable. We landed in Athens, rented a car; went to Corinth and eventually drove to Metorea. Next were the Islands of Mykonos, Santorini and Rhodes. Santorini was the best. High on a clifftop was Oia where we first heard Yanni. Next was Mykonos before it turned far too gay and lastly Rhodes where the mosquitoes were awful. Shopping was full of bargains. Janet bought jewles and furs.
A special place was Delphi where there is something magical in the air. The ancient ruins
are a gift from the past as are the ruins of the Parthenon in Athens and the monasteries of Meteora. Not to be missed but Greece is a long, long way from the East coast of America both in distance and culture.
