These things are simply wonderful for installing carpet because they are so sharp and because blades can be rotated or replaced fast but they are among the most dangerous tools because a simple mistake can cause dangerous injuries. 
They can be made even sharper by stroping them with a leather strop or a WORKSHARP Sharpening strop.
