A lesser civilization was simply overwhelmed by Columbus, the Spaniards and eventually by Europeans who travelled to the lands described by Columbus. In the sense that the lands Columbus discovered were new, they were not really new in thesense that they were recently created but in the sense that they were unknown to Europeans at that time the credit belongs to Columbus. the inhabitants of Hispaniola, Cuba and other places were simply not as evolved or as advanced as Columbus and those who followed him across the vast Atlantic ocean. Hats off the the man; his courage and his discoveries that stand in the forefront of the success expecially of America.. All due to one European.
So where are his monuments? many places, actually including Columbus Circle in Manhattan and so many other places not only in America but other locations around the world.
