Senator Chris Murphy wrongly believes President Trump needs the permission of Congress to go to war. He actually said: ” if the president did what the Constitution says, come to Congress to get authorization for this war.” That’s not the Constitution says. It requires the president to get funding from Congress and Article II, Section 2, states: “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States.”
