I’ve been to Denmark. I actually went far out of my way to get to Copehagen, one of the best places on earth so I know a bit about Denmark but I’m an America by birth and since that birth even though I’ve been to 91 other countries on business or pleasure. That includes numerous visits to China which should be referred to as Communist China, a Totalitarian Police State. Admittedly, I know about many other nations, cultures and the actual experience of being in a very different place so while I’m not an authority on the question of what nation would Greenlanders choose if it was up to them, they need to be aware that both Russia and China want to take over Greenland.
So.. Here’s the deal. It looks like it’s America, Russia or China. The big, big, insurmountable difference between America and both Russia and China is the freedom in America. It simply doesn’t exist in China or Russia. Chinese and Russian residents are under constant surveillance by the state. When I would leave my hotel room in China the room and it’s contents like my luggage would be searched by the police. That just cannot happen in America.
Probably more important is Denmark and the idea of individual freedom in Denmark. Know this: Denmark gave up some of it’s sovereighty to join the European Union. There is no Right of the Press.
