Slavery is wrong and forcing someone, anyone to pay or something someone else did is slavery so it too is also wrong. Christ died on the cross as reparations not for his own sins but for the sins of the non-ideal people. In other words, a man of perfect virtue was sacrificed for men who are vicious and who are expected or supposed to accept that sacrifice. Nothing could make a Christian more indignant than that: the notion of sacrificing the ideal to the non-ideal, or virtue to vice. Reparations are based on the idea that someone should atone for the sin’s of another. That’s an inversion of the concept of Justice. That’s a sin. That’s what the Maryland Group is demanding.
