Oct. 22, 2025: Russia took over the Crimea which includes the city of Yalta where in February of 1945 the Yalta Protocol which ended WWII in Europe and established The United Nations was signed by Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin.
On March 17, 2014 during the presidency of Barack Obama Putin and Russia took over The Crimea.
On 27 March, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a non-binding resolution, which declared the Crimean referendum and subsequent status change invalid, by a vote of 100 to 11, with 58 abstentions and 24 absent
Sevastopol in the Crimea is a lovely, modern city.

On October 21, 2025 bombings of the Ukrainian power plants that produce electricity were damaged or destroyed by Russian aircraft and Russian hypersonic and cruise missiles. Several Ukrainian civilians
were killed with scores more being injured.
Russia has attacked the infrastructure at Naftogaz, the largest gas and oil company in Ukraine, six times this month as part of its campaign.
