Columbus bumped into it when he was really going to Indonesia. He thought there was nothing in the way but he hit The Bahama’s at a small island in the Caribbean instead of The Far East which is where he wanted to go. But Columbus gets the credit for the ‘discovery’ of the New World and The America’s because his voyages led to European awareness and were the beginning of more exploration and colonization which would not have happened at that point without Columbus, therefore he’s the man.
