Rand wrote: “Let’s suppose they were all beautifully innocent savages, which they certainly were not. … What was it that they were fighting for, if they opposed white men on this continent? For their wish to continue a primitive existence, their right to keep part of the earth untouched, unused, and not even as property, but just keep everybody out so that you will live practically like an animal?” Rand asked.

Consider this: Carried out on March 22, 1622, the Jamestown, Virginia massacre was a coordinated series of surprise attacks by the local Indians on a number of English settlements and settlers in the Jamestown region that resulted in the deaths of 347 colonists, including men, women, and children.

In another vein, the Indians had no concept of Freedom in their existence. They were primitive cultures, mostly without the ability to write or read. Writing had already been invented in the 24th century BC in Sumeria, which is modern Iraq which is 44 centuries ago but it had not arrived within the Indian culture so they had no written language. Freedom first requires a large vocabulary which the local Indians did not have. Freedom consists of a series of Individual Rights which were first articulated in The Magna Carta in the year 1215. The Indians had no way to apprehend The Magna Carta so they were without the information to begin the articulation of the base of individual Rights.
