A wing travels through the air and produces an invisible force called “LIFT”. It’s a combination of the low pressure generated by the top of the wing and the high pressure generated by the bottom of the wing.  It is not a balanced force and it operates to move the wing in an upward and rearward direction which would force the aircraft to keep raising it’s nose so the aircraft uses a horizontal stabilizer to offset the rear acting force. That’s not at all obvious because the horizontal stabilizer looks like it’s lifting the rear of the aircraft when it’s really just offsetting the rearward part of the lift force. As the wing is propelled through the air it is pushed up by the bottom of the wing and lifted up by the lower pressure over the top of the wing. The combination causes the aircraft to move through the air and fly.
