The Roman Catholic Church of which Leo is now the Pope and leader, is firmly against the idea of freedom because a free person will seek the guidance of his/her own mind instead of running to an authority figure being either the church, the government or society at large. Capitalism requires a free individual while Catholicism requires an obedient one.
