While there are two recognized sexes, things change after birth or after a time. While there is no outward sign of gay or lesbians at birth, over time behaviors change due to whatever it is that makes them change. Those changes manifest themselves into the various sexual orientations that are recognized today. They weren’t universally recognized in the past although terms like: “butch”; “fagot” and “queer” seem to have been used since time out of mind. Look. Everyone is different yet in a lot of ways each individual is the same. That’s because of whatever I don’t know but there is natural selection at work so it’s important to understand just what is going on here. It seems important but just why it’s important is also a matter of contested meaning. Are people who are not exactely male or female in danger? Yes.. Sort of. The danger seems to depend on the perceptions of individuals who can accept, reject, be indifferent about or ignore individuals who are not identified as male or female but rather as something else. It’s far too early in the developement of the human race to be clear about the non-binarys among us. At this point it is clear however that they exist. What to do about it is a downstream query. No answers here.
