He helped Bradley manning steal then he published a video with the audio from a US military helicopter which showed civilians being killed in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
The problem was the information may have shown war crimes by the American military that were, of course being covered up. Depending on your values that’s either good or bad. The publishing may be covered by the First Amendments proection of the information and of the publishing. The theft doesn’t seem to be protected at all so he may be guilty of the theft but perhaps not of the crime of publishing it.
