With no other information to go to except the photographs and the interviews of Lieutenant Michael Byrd is it correct to conclude that there is no intelligence test or requirement for the Capitol Police to be of a certain level of intelligence before being hired and given a gun? In that sense would the guilt for the killing of Ashli Babbit include the many nameless and faceless bureaucrats and others who have made it a mission to hire people who are not intellectually qualified of capable? The cop who shot and killed Ashli Babbit was certainly not a member of the intellectual elite. Lieutenant Byrd was hired by, .. let’s say an organization consisting of a lot of people who followed an ideology that considered each person as qualified and capable as every other person and therin lies part of the basis for the death of Ashli Babbit. The shooting cop did not have to be there. He must have had enough sense to grasp the fact that his gun was not sufficient to stop the crowd of agitated individuals who were trying to get past the locked door. The sensible thing to do would be to leave the area. It would have been sensible to leave the area becuase it was evident that there was insufficient means to stop the crowd. The crowd was coming and there was no means to stop the crowd. Lieutenant Byrd should have realized the best thing he could do was to get out of there. Perhaps he is a hero for trying to protect whatever he believed he was supposed to protect. Perhaps the calculus of his situation was never made by the lieutenant. Why not? Because, in a word, intelligence. No one can blame anyone for their intelligence. The problem for intelligence is it is abstract and not available to inspection. So.. Michael Byrd was about four feet away from Ashli Babbit and he killed her. Byrd was in position because of many factors including the intelligence and abilities of a great many people who put him there. The killing of Ashli Babbit was done by a great many people. There is no single person responsible yet there must be responsibility because Ashli Babbit should not have been killed. In the end the relatives and friends of Ashli are nor deprived of her presence.
