Religion is about a supernatural universe. Religion in it’s essential elements and it’s essential practices is squarly aimed at an existence somewhere else. The earth is part of a universe. Religion therefore is about somewhere and something else. Of course those who accept religion may not realize they cannot find it’s essential elements on earth. Or, to the contrary, they do understand the universe of religion is not meant to apply to this earth. Mysticism and the supernatural are ideas about a different universe which means they stand in opposition to this universe. Mystics accept at least two universes or a different way of existence than existence in this universe. Perhaps it is not correct to accept the mystical or the supernatural or to equate the mystical and the supernatural with reality or to existence but believers do accept them. In addition or in the alternative religious people accept the idea that reality includes the mystical and the supernatural. They go further and construct ideas about what the mystical and the supernatural universes imply for people and their lives here and now.
