was given away by my dear mother years ago without my knowledge or permission. I almost bought a new collection from ebay just now for $500.00. It was a great looking collection and I almost went for it but I guess something wispered: “don’t do it” so here I am still without my stamps. Oh well but it’s probably for the best. I still have all of the other collections except for the stamps and the Rolls Royces.
It just occurred to me that the interest in international countries may have been sparked by the stamp collection that started before I was a teenager. the post office was close to the Bushrod Library where I went for books. If so it’s been a very healthy and rewarding set of experiences. Instead of stamps I have all of the memories of being in the countries. To me that’s wonderful. A friend of mine who just passed away went to a few countries in Europe and didn’t appreciate them at all. That only proves people are different and respond different ways to the samt things. Of course international tracel experiences are each and all different. A place that pleases someone can turn off someone else depending on a lot ot things. There are many places I was happy to visit but won’t recommend or ever go back to. Some became dangerous. That has nothing to do with the stamps but make certain to check out the dangers in a place you want to visit before you decide to go. It may save your life. Stamps can make your life better but probably can’t save it so if you want to be safer collect stamps instead of going to a different country. To check on the safety or danger of a country call or visit the website of the State Department and get an update on the country. That could actually save your life.
