There are people who are simply ignorant. Ignorant people. In their misguided world every sperm should become a baby. Never mind that most sperm swim around and just die. It’s a very rare sperm that can fertilize an egg. It takes up to four hours for the sperm to breach the wall of the egg and finally fertilize it. But the fertilized egg has to attach itself to the uterine wall. About half of the fertilized eggs fail to attach to the uterine wall. It normally takes four or five days for the fertilized egg to do that. Once the fertilized egg is attached to the uterine wall it has to develop.

The fertilized egg is called a blastocyst. The blastocyst becomes a zygote. It is considered an embryo at the point when the amniotic sac develops (by about day 10 to 12 after fertilization, or at the start of week #5 of pregnancy). An embryo represents the early stage of human development, roughly corresponding to the 5th-10th weeks of pregnancy.
