Race is real. If everyone was lined up according to their race characteristics in a graduated fashion it would be almost impossible to tell where one race stops and another begins but if they were grouped according to the central, defining characteristics of various groups the groups would be clearer. But part of the problem with race is the great unknowns of each individual. This is the genius of America, a culture set up based on the individual. So..

In America race doesn’t matter… Nope… That’s just wrong. Race can matter very little or a lot, depending on the issue. At no point, from the first rudimentary attempts to classify human populations in the 17th and 18th centuries to the present day, have scientists agreed on the number of races of humankind; the features to be used in the identification of races; or the meaning of race itself. Experts have suggested a range of different races varying from 3 to more than 60, based on what they have considered distinctive differences in physical characteristics alone (these include hair type, head shape, skin color, height, and so on). The lack of concurrence on the meaning and identification of races continued into the 21st century, and contemporary scientists are no closer to agreement than their forebears. Thus, race has never in the history of its use had a precise meaning. Why then do most people consider race as if they knew what it is? Michelle Obama constantly talks about race. Why, if it’s so ambiguous is Michelle so concerned about it? Obviously because it’s real.
