American’s who make the same products that other Americans buy lose their jobs. American dollars that are sent to China are used by China to buy non-American made products. So America loses jobs and dollars.
Americans who purchase the Chinese-made products from say WalMart pay less than they would if they bought higher-priced American-made products. They pay WalMart with American dollars. WalMart pays American dollars to the Chinese for the Chinese-made products, pays the American WalMart workers with American dollars and pays itself American dollars called WalMart’s American profit. American shoppers have more American dollars than they would if they buy higher-priced American products. So who is ahead and who is behind?
Everyone is ahead except for the American workers who lose their jobs. The Wal-Mart customers have the Chinese-made products and they have more American dollars then they would have if they bought higher-priced American-made products. The American customers and WalMart could send some or all of their saved dollars to the American workers who lost their jobs but no one would do that. The Americans who lost their jobs will have to find other jobs which will be at lower pay than before or at higher pay as they get higher paying jobs.
