John Galt spent his life defending ability as did Ayn Rand says Barbara Brandon in this 2009 interview regarding The Passion of Ayn Rand. Galt’s solution to the irrational was to gather the people of exceptional ability at Galts Gulch until the world was ready to welcome them back. President Trump is vastly different than John Galt. Both are extremely competant. The difference is that Trump believes in Trump and in his ability (there’s that Galt/Rand word) to get the right things done by facing the incompetent in the real world. Trump doesn’t have the luxury of a fictional world. Trump has waded into the irrational world and because of him the world is getting better. Both Trump and Galt are opposed by the incompetent.
In the fictional Atlas Shrugged, one of the worlds most life changing books Galt sees further into the future, withdraws the people with exceptional ability, the people who are not only not appreciated but who are actually opposed by the incompetent and because the incompetent are the majority they seem successful but that success is an illusion because the incompetent will eventually destroy themselves because they are not living in truth and reality.
