Analysis of sound is cognitive and emotion is the summation of intellectual stimuli. Feelings are therefore intellectually based. Reason is the tool to analyse perceptions which is the connection between reason and feelings which are emotive. Music triggers the emotion which is the cognitive response to the sound.

The subconscious is built from conscious perceptions but is cognitively inaccessable. The imagination itself requires a basis which can only come from perception which is at bottom sense data.
