TWA 800 Was Brought Down off Long Island By A Missile on July 17, 1996

…fired from a boat that was observed going away from the explosion site when all other boats were going towards it. Initial reports were that 96 witnesses on the ground saw a bright red light going up to the aircraft then it exploded. All of the witnesses were somehow involved in changing their stories. WHy??
