Free speech only stops government from telling you to shut up. If your boss tells you to pipe down and you don’t you can be fired, fined or ejected from the places controlled by your boss and that’s the way it should be. Mouth off to mommy or daddy and it’s up to the bedroom and shut the door for you. Some guy over at REASON, a magazine that generally gets it right, I suppose he’s a guy, — he uses the name Robby, said: “Donald Trump, who won the presidency in part by promising voters he would stand against the oppression of political correctness, is now taking a victory lap after successfully pressuring the National Football League to protect the delicate feelings of its snowflake audience.” Robby is the snowflake along with proving he’s a low intellectual for not understanding free speech. You have none in the stadium. If the owner doesn’t care for your words he can eject you and tell you to get lost. The First Amendment says government can’t do that but the Uniform Commercial Code and a lot of other sets of rules say the stadium owner can shut you up or eject you.
Some of the NFL players wanted to protest police brutality. No one called on them to prove it so they didn’t. Robby says: “players were engaged in one of the most civil and least disruptive forms of protest imaginable. Saying that simply kneeling for the national anthem is so offensive that it must be confined to the locker room or banned outright reflects the same hypersensitivity that plagues the social justice left.” Horsehocky Robby. The players are employees, not owners of a stadium. If they refuse to show the respect the owners and fans want they can leave. No one will stop them. There are probably a thousand other men who will immediately stop up to replace them.
Sure NFL players are recognized as being the best there is but….. they are not that much better than a bunch of other guys who respect the flag and just want to play football so the NFL protesters can be replaced. They don’t own the place. If they want to protest find a place they own. take it out to the sidewalk. Go march somewhere. In the stadm we respect America and want to watch foottball. Otherwise we’ll just have to re-fight the Civil War against some people who are uncivil.
