Bad ideas are two for a nickel and Kaepernick had a doozy that made some white people reflect on the cost of Affirmative Action, WIC, Black Lives Matter and literally thousands of smaller programs that were initially designed to help black people have better lives. Sometimes, more often than politely mentioned in Liberal circles the opposite happened.
For example, when someone with a lower test score was moved ahead so a black person can be join the police or become a firefighter a white person is moved back and doesn’t get the job for which they are more qualified.
The NFL is not guilty of that because players are accepted based ontheir ability. No one resents that but when the black players began to protest and ”take a knee’ on behalf of their less capable members the Kapernick Caper backfired. The NFL suffered a loss of 10% of it’s fans and millions more decided they didn’t have to watch NFL football thanks to Kaepernick and the kneeling football players. The 10% decline cost more than 10% of the revenue. It cost perhaps 30% of the profits and profits are what’s needed to pay the players.
Things have consequences and consequences have consequences.
