President Trump and Virginia governor Terry McAauliffe   “agreed that the hate and the division must stop and must stop right now.”  Some things are easier said than done. 

The president continued: “”We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides.” How many sides are there?
There’s the usual skin color sides, whites and blacks but Charlotteville seemed to be white people so racism wasn’t the issue, at least not the issue of why the two sides were fighting. It takes two races to have a race issue. There weren’t enough races in Charlottsville to have a race based demonstration and response.


So what caused the demonstration and the counter demonstration? No one’s talking but suppose it’e the tipping of the scales towards or against one race or another? Suppose it started as ways to eliminate the unfair advantages for whites and males. That’s what Wikipedia says on it’s webpage “Affirmative Action”.


Perhaps it’s the feeling of some white people that they have been and continue to be wrongly victimized by affirmative action; that they are paying for wrongs of others. The use of discrimination to prove discrimination is wrong. It’s like tha argument against capital punishment which is to kill people to prove killing people is wrong.

It’s important to have the correct solution to properly solve a problem. Destroying statues of Confederates won’t erase the causes and effects of the American Civil War. Hating America won’t stop hate in America.

Charlottsville showed us that some past solutions caused problems. Those solutions weren’t solutions at all. Sweeping problems under the rug then getting people to buy a new rug doesn’t remove the problem of the dirt.
