The best was a 1979 TK-Matic L that automatically advanced the 0.5mm lead while it was writing or more exactly when it stopped. the latest find is a Kuru Toga “Peanuts” version that not only advances the lead but rotates it. It’s much better although it’s only incrementally better and the TK-Matic L feels loads better. I like both pencils and have zero preference at this point. I especially enjoy the Peanuts pencil with it’s Snoopy grapics.
