What was he thinking? Why was he armed? Who in their right mind would go to a public rally and actually confront Armed Agents with a 9mm Semi-Automatic pistol? Yes, he had a permit to legally carry the gun concealed but why did he take it? What was he planning to use it for?
Obviously he wasn’t thinking clearly when he advanced towards armed, agitated ICE agents even with his hands in the air because ICE would see and take that as a threat because they didn’t know Pretti, they didn’t know his intentions and even if he said something correct as he advanced towards them they would take that as a threat and since Pretti was the threat they had to treat him as a threat and when they found a loaded gun and loaded magazines (2)

on him they would continue to see him as a deadly threat because after they found one gun they couldn’t be sure he didn’t have any more guns or other deadly weapons like hand grenades so Pretti was shot and killed. He didn’t have to die but he put himself in that situation so he’s at least partly to blame for the fatal result. Always stay away from law enforcement because they never act as law enforcement by making it better for anyone because law enforcement is based on the idea that criminals have to be taken into custody and criminals are dangerous people so ICE agents have to be on constant alert to find and stop threats on them. It’s unfortunate that Pretti died but it started when he walked towards armed, agitated, highly alert, nervous ICE agents. It continued when he helped a woman ICE had pushed away. He continued to be a threat because he resisted and even when he was shot and killed because he had a backpack and ICE had no way to know what was in it so they would have to err on the side of caution and continue to treat him as a threat. That’s a no-brainer. Keep away from law enforcement by not becoming a criminal and let them do their job.
