Ayn Rand’s brilliant discovery and exposition of Concepts is a necessary step into the topic of knowledge and thought. What is Thought and where it comes from are issues that can only arise after identifying what it is but the idea of Concepts will get into the way of the answers. The problem with thought is: it’s an abstraction and therefore cannot be seen, felt, tasted, smelled or heard. Thought however is real and can be defined. Rand solved the huge problem of Universals that befuddled giant intellectuals such as Plato and Aristotle. She identified “CONCEPTS”. There is much work to be done however until consciousness becomes known. We know what it does and what can be done with consciousness as part of the nature of an individual but how it actually happens is a great unknown. What is a thought? It is part of existence yet it only exists in one individual and cannot be shared. We think by using consciousness. We use CONCEPTS as we meander along in our mind yet there is much that is still unknown.. There is so much about the mind that is unknown but is this about which we are certain. Existence is what exists. Consciousness is that we are aware of existence and Identity is that which is in existence. Axioms that lead to knowledge. Grammar helps the intellect use Consciousness, Identity and Existence by using an order and an ordered approach to knowledge. Why then is there still so much ignorance?
